The Quest Begins
BoozeQuest originated over a decade ago as a chaotic, handmade party game for my friends and I. Inspired by a love of both fantasy tabletop classics and beer, the premise was simple: Raid the castle. Battle monsters, traps, and your friends. Roleplay as you slam beers. Whoever is the first to reach the magical Everlasting Keg and defeat the evil Booze Dragon wins the game!
I was told hundreds of times to publish, but I always laughed it off. "Where would I even start?" But one night, after a gaming session during Covid lockdown, I decided to give it a shot. I figured: What else was I doing? Then, the real BoozeQuest began.
The Forging of an Epic
Once I got serious, there was no turning back. I started a crowdfunder, promising shirts, merch, and polished final copies to backers. I raised the funds to assemble a three person art team, refined the rules and added three new character classes. We became an official LLC. Locked in the copyrights. Printed 150 copies.
The game was finally real. BoozeQuest evolved from a handpainted board for shits and giggles to a legit tabletop game.
It was on now!
The Battle Rages
Once production finished, it was time to hustle!
We hosted event nights at bars. Filmed multiple commercials. Ran live streaming playthroughs. Attended multiple board game conventions. Promoted BoozeQuest at wrestling events! I hyped the game every single way I could, and eventually...
We sold all 150 copies. BoozeQuest was played in five different countries. The prophecy was fulfilled, the quest complete. But after a time in hibernation, the Booze Dragon awoke from his slumber, more powerful than ever and drunk on revenge!
...And Now?
The Party Never Dies
After a little rest and a lot of recalibration, the time has come to publish BoozeQuest: Second Edition!
Second Edition will have new monsters, a new treasure system (Booty Cards!), and a brand new playstyle where drinking at all is 100% optional!
This game will be bigger, better, wiser, and more ridiculous than ever before. And I can't wait to share it with you all.
